Landmine explosion: Two FC men killed in Mand

Deceased and injured were taken to the district headquarters hospital.

QUETTA: Two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were killed and five others were injured in a landmine blast in the Mand area, a township which shares a border with Iran, in Kech district.

According to an official of the Balochistan levies, a paramilitary troops’ vehicle was on its routine patrol in Mand, some 60 kilometres from Turbat city, when it hit a planted landmine. As a result of the explosion, two personnel were killed on the spot while five others sustained injuries. The vehicle was also destroyed in the incident.

A heavy contingent of the FC rushed to the spot soon after. The deceased and injured were taken to the district headquarters hospital. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
