Home safe: Forest officer recovered, 4 kidnappers arrested

The Anti-Violent Crime Cell has recovered a forest officer who went missing in October. The cell, working in collaboration with the Capital Police Liaison Committee, also arrested four men in connection with the kidnapping.


The officer, posted in Nawabshah, was kidnapped from Super Highway Karachi on October 12. The two police teams found him during a joint raid at Tando Adam.

According to the AVCC chief, SP Ghulam Subhani, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs20 million and were negotiating with the family. They traced the kidnappers by tracking their phone calls, he added. Four men, Faiz Mohammad Jamali, Master Mohammad Jumman, Sanaullah Abro and Kareem Dino were apprehended from the house where the abducted officer was found. The AVCC chief claimed that the same group was behind the abduction of a teenager, Faizan, on September 16. Faizan is Sindh High Court Chief Justice Mushir Alam’s nephew and is still missing.
