Workplace Accident: One dead, four injured

FAISALABAD: A worker was killed while four others suffered serious injuries in a workplace accident at a workshop in Usman Market at Sammundri Road on Wednesday. D-Type Colony police said Muneer Ahmad, 50; Yaqoob, 35; Shahbaz, 28; Arshad, 33; and Khurram Shahzad, 28, were taken to the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital after a shaft of a printing machine they were working with broke and fell on them. Muneer died at the hospital. The condition of the other injured was described by doctors at the hospital to be stable. Muneer’s body was later sent to Allied Hospital for an autopsy. Police said an FIR would be registered in the case on the basis of the post mortem report.
