National unity: Kaira calls for opposition support

Talking to TV channel, he said that nation should stand united in confronting challenges of terrorism and extremism.

ISLAMABAD: PPP Information Secretary Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Tuesday that all the political parties, whether ruling coalition or the opposition, should put up a united front to strengthen the democratic system and achieve foreign policy goals including peace in Afghanistan and cordial ties with the US.

Talking to TV channel, he said that the nation should stand united in confronting challenges of terrorism and extremism. He said: “In order to keep intact our democratic system we want opposition parties to continue playing their due role.”

He added: “Today there is a dire need of unity amongst all segments of the nation.
