Pakistan-US ties

Letter December 11, 2011
Growing incidents of Nato and US forces attacking Pakistani border forces, civilians has created a negative sentiment.

ISLAMABAD: The parliamentary committee on national security has summoned the ministries of defence and foreign affairs in the coming meeting on December 13. The objective behind summoning the above said ministries is to get a clear stance on Pakistan’s agreement with the US and Nato forces in their alliance regarding the war on terror.

The growing incidents of Nato and US forces attacking Pakistani border forces and civilians has created a negative sentiment in Pakistan at many levels. In order to avoid such sentiments, it is important that the concerned ministries reveal the details of all agreements that Pakistan has made as part of its participation in the war on terror. This will help clarify the position of the government and also serve to lessen the growing negative sentiment among the general public with regard to Pakistan-America ties.
