Punjab Colours thrashed Sindh Colours 9-0 in the opening match of the 27th National Women Hockey Championship, in which 10 teams, representing various departments and provinces, are taking part.



For Punjab, Iram scored four goals, while captain Sidra Younis also struck a hat-trick. In another one-sided match, Railways out-classed Sindh Whites 10-0, as Hina Kanwal found the back of the net on five occasions.

Meanwhile, Higher Education Commission brushed aside Punjab Whites 7-0, Balochistan defeated Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa 4-0 and Wapda edged out Army 1-0.
