Tribune Take: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari signifies continuity
Zia Khan, reporter The Express Tribune Islamabad, says the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has done more harm than good by not coming out clean with details about the president's health. He says the contradictory statements from the presidential spokesperson and the Prime Minister House do not help with instilling confidence in the ruling party.
Khan says the arrival of PPP co-chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari signifies a continuity of leadership for the party. He says Bilawal's presence sends an important message to the establishment and political parties that the PPP leadership will remain in the hands of the Bhutto family.

Not a sign of democracy. PPP needs intraparty democracy and fresh blood rising to the top. Inbreeding is not healthy for the party or the country. The same holds true for all political parties that adhere to this "keeping it in the family" policy. it is a sign of a primitive culture.Little wonder the country doesn't seem to progress with democracy. You get the same people again and again with same mindset; who have failed before and return again under revolving door syndrome.
How a person can lead the country who cant speak his mother tongue and national language. Just see the recent photos on different newspaper, the way he treated PM. He was seen with PM Gilani, is he is the King of Pakistan and PM is his slave. So shame on Bilawal. How a kid like him will serve the country, Plz thank. If we talk about Imran Khan, so it clear to all that he is our National hero, we won the only world Cup for Pakistan. HE built Shaukat Khanam Hospital, where the poor are treated. Plz my dear countrymen, try to understand, who is good for the country. I love my Pakistan,

What a misreable destiny our nation has, a 20 something kid is deciding the matters of 20 crore people.
Ever wonder if Zardari was "actually" ill to make his son successor of his throne? It's all political game and people are aware of it unless someone is trying to play blind-fold game here.
I shudder when I think that the younger Gillani's and Bilawal Zardari are now posturing for positions/ seats in Pakistan's shamocracy. If they were to have their way, it would be the end of Pakistan.

Just waiting to hear him being announced as the next President after Zardari resigns and refuses to come back to Pakistan. Hence making a complete joke of 25 year minimum age for holding public office. I'm sure Babar Awan will somehow manage to find a way to change the law to allow him and the public will be sitting around doing nothing because the fact is BB abhi bhi zinda hai.

In Pakistan which party leader is not for life? Which party has changed its leader in decades? Nothing is new here. Bilawal is the chairman of PPP and is becoming more active. If ZAB and BB were not eliminated by murders, there would be no Zardari or Bilawal. Just one Bhutto would be like Wali Khan, Imran Khan, JUI, PML factions, for life. Which party has changed its leader in several decades? JI is the only exception.
Ever since the October 30th PTI Tsunami Jalsa, our mainstream parties (PPP & PML(N)) have realized the forgotten importance of the power of our youth.
Hence PML (N) is set launch Mariam Nawaz, while PPP has to prematurely launch Bilawal.
Both parties desperate to salvage their waning popularity.
There is no need to get bent out of shape. Bilawal is already Chairman of PPP, there is nothing new about it. In Islam the prophet's maternal grandchildren (PBU them all) are important or not? PPP can appoint a new leader if they do not like the current president of the party. In Pakistan almost every party leader is for life. Imran khan, NS, Wali Khan, JUI and all others are lifers. Does anybody seriously believe that they would vacate the seat even after several decades each? If ZAB were not hanged by the army he would be just like the above leaders for life. Only JI is an exception to this generalization.
Bilawal sahab sheds his tuxedos and polos and put on a sindhi topi and chadar. time for us to mourn our destiny as citizens in limbo. once again.

But he is child of a woman who got martyred for Pakistan and she was a daughter of a person who get martyred by Zia.
