
Sindh Ombudsman Asad Ashraf Malik has been elected the regional vice-president of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI).
The IOI is a 33-year-old independent global organisation that helps more than 150 ombudsman institutions worldwide, to cooperate in looking after public complaints on administration in their respective countries. He won by a wide margin of votes against Mau Cong Fong, a commissioner of anti-corruption from Macau, China.
The elections were held at the IOI headquarters in Vienna, on December 2. Malik has also served as elected director on the board of directors of IOI in August this year.
