A rickshaw driver committed suicide after he was issued a traffic ticket by a warden in Anarkali on Thursday.
Basharat, a brother of deceasd Shaukat, told The Express Tribune that after he was issued the ticket he purchased wheat preserving posion from a nearby market and returned to the spot where the incident had happened to commit suicide in front of the warden.
He said Shaukat had been disheartened because he frequently lost most of his day’s income in paying for traffic tickets.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Sardar Asif Khan said that the driver may have committed suicide over some other reason. However, he also ordered a probe into the incident.
