Pension Fraud: Seema Munawwar’s sentence, fine suspended

LAHORE:

The three-year jail term and Rs3.9 million fine awarded to Seema Munawwar for illegally withdrawing her father’s pension was suspended on Wednesday.

Munawwar, a former additional advocate general and daughter of the late LHC judge Justice Munawwar Elahi, was convicted by an accountability court last week. Munawwar asked the court to suspend her sentence in light of SC judgements which allow prison sentences to be suspended if there are no prior convictions.
