Being Followed: Khalid Shamim’s wife fears arrest

KARACHI: The wife of a man said to be involved in the murder of Dr Imran Farooq has gone to court with the licence plate number of a car she says has been following her. Missing water board worker Khalid Shahmim’s wife Beena Khalid filed an urgent application. She said that she feared arrest by men in the vehicle with a government licence plate number (GP 5940) that has been following her. Chief Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar asked the advocate general of Sindh on Wednesday to give the car’s details. Beena Khalid has been fighting for the release of her husband from alleged illegal detention. She says he was whisked away from outside an ATM in Malir a few months ago.
