The president’s health

I believe he is a human being first and sending him bad wishes is not very civil behaviour.

ISLAMABAD:
Since the news about the reported ill-health of President Asif Ali Zardari appeared in the media, particularly on social media, a lot of people have actually started sending bad whishes his way.

Keeping his position as president of Pakistan and head of state aside, I believe he is a human being first and sending him bad wishes is not very civil behaviour. Furthermore, it won’t do the country any good if any harm comes to him. The reason I say that — and I am no admirer of his — is that a resignation, even on health grounds, could worsen the current crisis in the country and lead to further political instability. This will allow all anti-democratic forces a chance to, once again, play with the fate of the country.

So, if we cannot pray for his health, we should, at the very least, pray for a stable Pakistan.
