Ashura: Rangers to be deployed in AJK

MIRPUR: Rangers will be deployed in sensitive areas in Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Ashura, said Inspector General of Police Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) Dr Tariq Khokher on Sunday. He was responding to queries at a press conference.  Khokher said that they were implementing an integrated plan that will be implemented in phases to overcome crimes in the state. He added that they are in the final phases of launching Rescue 15 to ensure quick police assistance to people.  He said that under their integrated plan, they had established eight police at all major residential areas of Mirpur city and that police beats have been equipped with the latest technology to conduct round-the-clock patrols to maintain security. Close circuit cameras have also been installed at all major entry points of AJK including all three districts of Mirpur.
