Social sciences are called that because they are not exact like the natural sciences.
LAHORE: This is with reference to Dr Pervez Tahir’s article of December 2 titled “Social Sciences: hard or soft science”.
Human knowledge is divided into natural sciences like physics and chemistry and social sciences like economics. The first type of sciences can be predicted but the same cannot be said of the social sciences. Social sciences are called that because they are not exact like the natural sciences. Who and how many people adopt a particular discipline or science depends upon the supply and demand for that particular discipline.
