LAHORE: My letter “Pakistan’s last ambassador”, published in your esteemed paper on November 30, omits some parts I had written, perhaps because of editing considerations. However, this unfortunately gave a distorted impression of what I had wanted to say in that letter.
My point was that for Shahzad Chaudhry, writing in his piece titled “Restoring civil-military balance” (November 28), to “brush aside” Mr Husain Haqqani’s sterling performance in pursuit of the ideals of the ‘right’ throughout his career was unfair and unjust. Besides, to call him a ‘liberal’ is worse than calling the Sipah-e-Sahaba ‘secular’.
