LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Thursday acquitted a man of the charge of raping a third-year college student. Judge Malik Tariq Mehmood Zargham ruled that the prosecution had failed to establish a case against the accused, Muhammad Shafqat. According to the FIR of the case registered at Ghalib Market police station on the complaint of the father of the victim, Shafqat had picked up the girl from her tuition centre on the pretext that he was taking her to visit her injured father in hospital and then attacked her.
