Cricket: Karachi, Multan record wins

LAHORE: Ramim Shamim led Karachi to an eight-wicket win over Islamabad in a Pool A match of the National U-19 Women T20 Championship. Electing to bat first, Islamabad scored 108 for nine with Fazila making 59. Shamim was the pick of the bowlers with four scalps. Karachi reached their target in 18.5 overs, losing two wickets in the process with Ayesha Zafar’s 47 being the highlight of the innings. In another match, Multan defeated Hyderabad by 21 runs in a low-scoring encounter. Multan were bundled out for just 89 but Hyderabad could manage only 68 in reply, with Najma starring with a five-wicket haul.
