LAHORE: This is with reference to the ongoing discussions in your newspaper on the decision by cable operators to ban international news channels. I consider this to be an absolutely unwarranted and unwise step. This is the age of information which means, that we don’t ban television channels but rather improve our own so that they can compete with outside competition. This will not only enhance the credibility of our media in the eyes of the general public, it will also improve our mostly-negative image, as perceived by the outside world.
