Expansion: NBP makes 800 branches online

KARACHI: National Bank of Pakistan has converted 800 branches online out of its network of 1,265 branches which cover the remotest areas of the country. Through the online facility, NBP customers holding an account at any online branch can deposit and withdraw cash. The country’s largest bank is aggressively pursuing its goal of bringing 1,000 branches online by the end of 2011 after which customers living in cities and remotest areas of the country will benefit from online banking facilities. NBP has recently initiated a number of IT projects to make the bank one of the most technologically advanced financial institutions in the country. PRESS RELEASE
