Two women were killed when a stray mortar shell fired by paramilitary forces hit the house of local labourer Islam Gul of the Malik Deenkhel tribe in the Bara area of Khyber Agency. Another woman and two children were also injured in the incident.
The paramilitary forces were targeting militant hideouts. Local leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Haji Iqbal Afridi has appealed to the governor of K-P and the IG of Frontier Constabulary to take notice of the incident.
He said the PTI strongly condemned continuing killing of innocent people by stray mortar shells, adding that they would camp outside the Governor House in Peshawar and the President House in Islamabad in protest.
