No Lift: Elevator at SHC out of order

KARACHI: The computerised elevator at the Sindh High Court (SHC) has been out of order for more than 10 days. A worker involved in its maintenance said that the fault was caused by power fluctuations and electricity breakdowns, which had damaged a computer card. The component has yet to be replaced as it is unavailable in the local market and will have to be imported. Hundreds of lawyers and thousands of litigants have been climbing stairs to attend their cases as the old lift, which is being used to transport law books, cannot carry much weight.
