Environment: Plantation drive in AJK to cost Rs200 m

Plantation of over eight million saplings on an area of 14,484 acres in the forthcoming tree plantation drive.

MIRPUR: A total of Rs200 million have reportedly been allocated in Azad Jammu Kashmir’s (AJK) budget for the current fiscal year for the plantation of over eight  million saplings on an area of 14,484 acres in the forthcoming tree plantation drive, official sources said. Sources said that the AJK Forest Department has been assigned to make sufficient arrangements for the disbursement of saplings among people. The saplings would be made available at stipulated points and in nurseries of the Forest Department in all eight districts of AJK. An extension wing in the AJK Forest Department will supervise the campaign.
