Afghan foreign ministry officials urged Pakistan to not follow through on threats to boycott a conference on Afghanistan’s future that is scheduled for December 5 in Bonn, Germany.
An Afghan foreign ministry spokesman said that the Bonn Conference is the most important event of the year for Afghanistan and that it considers Pakistan’s participation as vital, given the leverage it has over some Taliban factions.
However, the Pakistani foreign office has said the government has not yet decided on whether or not to boycott the conference.
An early Saturday morning attack by North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato) helicopters killed at least 24 security personnel and injured 12 soldiers on a Pakistani check post in Salala, which is located in the Tehsil Bayzai area of Mohmand Agency on the Pak-Afghan border.
The United States has been told by Pakistan’s military leadership to evacuate a logistically key airbase it operates in Balochistan – Shamsie Airbase – within 15 days. In addition, Pakistan’s fury was driven home with an official statement that it will shut down Nato supply routes operating through its territory – something that has happened for the first time, though supply routes have previously been temporarily blocked unofficially following similar attacks.

Say No to Bon Conference >>>>>>>>>>>>> Bye US For ever
@j. von hettlingen I also agree with you that AFG and PAK, need each others cooperation for better stability iin the region
Pakistan should under no circumstances take part in the up coming conferences. Enough is enough with this game. These conferences are also part of the circus that NATO and Karzai have going on. Pakistan has every right to defend its interests. I beg the US to stop the "aid" it's giving to Pakistan. Go God sake US congress stop this blood money!
Mr. hedgefunder
Please consider Pakistan situation, American are attacking every day and You are worried about some thing useless. Pakistan have supported Afghans for more than 30 years and still million of Afghans are in Pakistan and Pakistan still support them like brothers ... Plz US Stop Killing ... Respect the Humanity ... The world will respect You.... Stop interfering in others matters and let the world be Peaceful... Imagine if these only 10% of the Billions of dollar invested in wars, if could be invested in Humanity and Poverity... How the world will be and How much respect we all have for USA. No one attack or revenge from US and every respect them to lead the world.
“Imagine how we would feel if it had been 24 American soldiers killed by Pakistani forces at this moment,” Senator Richard J. Durbin, Democrat from Illinois, said on “Fox News Sunday.”
Pakistan must take part in the conference on Afghanistan's future in Bonn next week. It is the keyplayer in the region and exerts influence on the Taliban, which is part of the political landscape in Afghanistan. Both countries benefit from stability in the region.
@khan: What is your point??? Are we afraid to face facts here?
@hedgefunder
If Pakistan refuses its teritory for Nato crusaders, then they will be eaten by the dogs and birds.

Making comment here on ET is Fruitless. Please just call Hamid Karzai and brief him about evil plans of Pakistan.
The Afghans need not to worry about the tension between our and US ties. Our government is just putting up a show- of Naraz Mashoqa and then few days later everything will settled down. Pakistan will participate in the Afghan conferance and even there will be two military chiefs [Pak and the US] smiling and hand in hand showed in the media. Just like that happened after the OBL raid, the first drone strike and the Rymond Devis incident. Cheers up and drink a kool-aid!
Afghanistan should be worried as their so called brother is not what he seems, but has different agendas and will do whatever it takes to disrupt stability in the country !!!
