FAISALABAD:

Microsoft is all set to launch its latest state-of-the-art surface technology in Pakistan on December 14, 2011.

Microsoft Pakistan Platform Group manager Tahir Masood announced this while speaking at a seminar on ‘Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance (MSDNAA)”, jointly arranged by the information technology resource centre and databank and the department of computer sciences at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) on Saturday.

Masood said that surface technology was a multi-touch product that allowed a user, or multiple users, to manipulate digital content by utilising gesture recognition technologies. “This could involve the motion of hands or physical objects.

The Imagine Cup, 2012 will be held in Australia in which students from UAF will also be participating to showcase innovative technological designs,” he said. He said the Cup was an annual competition sponsored and hosted by Microsoft Corp, which brings together young technology enthusiasts to help resolve some of the world’s toughest challenges. He said that the Microsoft has launched a portal for the one million students and 41,000 teaching staff from where they can download the educational material.
