At his rally on Friday, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan reiterated that his party is not supported by “hidden elements.”
“We have no unseen backers, the PTI belongs to the entire country,” Imran said, adding the ‘PTI tsunami’ has reached Peshawar and no one can stop it.
While the party’s spokesperson claimed that a 100,000 people had attended the rally, intelligence sources put the number at 10,000.
However, the young participants at the rally seemed to be unmoved by Imran’s ambitions of a corruption-free Pakistan, as after the rally thousands of young activists attacked sugarcane fields near the venue. This led to scuffles between the farmers and PTI activists, who eventually managed to steal sticks of sugarcane.
“We want a new Pakistan, where old politics, parties and lies will not exist,” Khan said.
He added that his party will hold political meetings in Multan, Ghotki and Karachi.
Imran promised uniform education and financial equity, adding that he will liberate the masses from the clutches of inflation. However, no clear method was given on how this was to be done.
“We will take both wickets of Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif in a single ball,” the cricket hero said to cheering participants.
PPP member joins PTI
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Iftikhar Khan Jhaghra formally joined the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf on Friday. He announced his move to resign from the PPP Central Executive Committee and join the PTI at a public rally in his home town Jhaghra, on the outskirts of the provincial capital.
Meanwhile, Saleem Jan Khan, ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan’s first cousin, also joined the PTI when Imran Khan visited his residence on Friday.
Saleem Jan said he had made the decision after reading Imran Khan’s book. He added that Wali Khan and Baacha Khan were his elders and he still respects them, but does not agree with the present policies and leadership of the ANP. Saleem Jan also presented details of his assets to Imran Khan.

Yes,Yes, but Imran will keep bowling no-balls to his puppet masters, the security establishment!
for the info of all those who are not from KP,Jhagra is a small rural hamlet some 10-15 km from Peshawar. it was not a proper jalsa rather a public meeting where one of the local veteran politician Iftikhar Jhagra was going to announce his joining of PTI. for a public meeting, it was a big crowd and thousands had to return without attending because the one track road leading to that place was completely blocked due to huge turnout. PTI and IK is extremely popular in KP. its the same buzz in favour of PTI here just like it was in 2002 election for MMA when the religious parties swept the elections.watch out the next election results will surprise everybody in KP.i can see PTI government in KP with certainity thats why all the political heavy weights lining to join PTI.
Lets make his Karachi jalsa the biggest in Pakistan's history. Insha Allah
I am from KPK, and can say with confidence that whether or not IK sweeps in other provinces, he is going to sweep in KPK.
Tsunami lost charm
Can't wait to see him in Karachi... I'm definitely attending his rally on Dec 25th... And will make sure I take atleast 20 people with me! Imran Khan Zindabad!
@Maryam: Your Negative approach is always want to find some small cornor half line of the news. You do not seems to see broad picture. This jalsa was held in a village. It was obvious that some young people might have taken sortcut to go through the Jalsa from the fields. It is wrong to destroy farmers field and there but Imran Khan does not control these people.
In this country 63 years there were dirty politicians who have been enjoying their life. What you sow so shall you reap. Why peoples party and PML(N) never did training these people as they have been in power so many times.
Imran Khan is honest and brave leader and he will lead these people and will show them correct path.
@Maryam:
I agree with you. I'm also impressed with the Tsunami eventually managed to steal the sticks of sugarcane. lol..
zinda bad imran khan strong text

Inclusion of Bacha Khan's grand son is a huge boost for PTI.
@faraz : IKhan is very famous in KPK. This is true. The good thing about KPK people that their is no khanism or peeri mureedi. People are mostly independent. This jalsa was held in a hujra. So you can imagine that the organizers only wanted to signify the joining. Secondly it was a working day (Friday). I am sure that PTI will clean sweep KPK insha Allah.
Despite the fact KPK is not well know for grand jalsas and this meeting was in "Jhagra" a village about 8 Km from peshawar, I think it was good crown. PTI is looking for grand Jalsa in Peshawar in March. Also, it was just a recpetion of new memeber and PTI officially did not made any campaign / arrangements.
It looks like a seriously big crowd, not 10,000 type. Way to PTI!
He is getting the influx faster than in Punjab. Lets not forget that a large corner of media is aggressively working against PTI; the fact we are all aware of. Wait and watch the numbers shoot sky high.
imran infact said that 'there is a khufiya hath'.
A rooster crows only when it sees the light. Put him in the dark and he'll never crow. I have seen the light and I'm crowing. (Muhammad Ali JInah)
Guess who fits in this example presently??? Yes, you are right IK.
Actually I was expecting a huge rally in Peshawar. The impression is that he is very popular in KP. Can anyone from KP explain the real position of PTI in KP?
