Last case: SHC adjourns bail plea of MQM-H chief
The bench adjourned the proceedings till December 8.
KARACHI:
In anticipation of a judgment by an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC-II) on a bail application filed by Afaq Ahmed in a 10-year-old case, a division bench of the High Court of Sindh adjourned a bail plea in the same matter till December 8.
The bench comprised Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi. When the bail application came up for hearing, the prosecutor general of Sindh was not present. An Additional Advocate General for Sindh and Syed Iqbal Kazmi, Afaq’s attorney, told the bench that trial court (ATC-II) which reserved its judgment in the bail plea on November 23, is likely to announce it today (November 26).
After this statement, the bench adjourned the proceedings till December 8. The 2002 kidnapping case was the last case in which Afaq needs bail as it cropped up only a few months back when he was granted bail in all other cases.
