Cricket: Strauss wary of Pakistan threat

They have played well against Sri Lanka

LONDON: England captain Andrew Strauss, in an exclusive interview with Lords.org, revealed that he expects stiff competition from Pakistan during his side's tour of the UAE in January 2012. Despite the fact that England beat Pakistan 3-1 when the two sides last met in 2010, which was marred by the spot-fixing controversy, Strauss is not taking anything for granted. "There seems to have been a little bit of a resurgence in Pakistan cricket," said Strauss. "They have played well against Sri Lanka and obviously they have been playing in the same conditions that we will play them in, so they will be more used to them. I think it is going to be a very tough examination for us."
