Pakistan cricketer Saeed Ajmal has moved to the number one slot in the new One Day International (ODI) bowler rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The off-spinner earned the top position after his performance in the series against Sri Lanka held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Ajmal is also rated at the ninth position in the Test bowlers of the world.

Bowlers Shahid Afiridi and Muhammad Hafeez bagged the seventh and eight positions of the top 10 ODI bowlers, respectively.

In team rankings, Pakistan moved up from the sixth position to fifth after defeating Sri Lanka in the ODI series.

Pakistan stands at the sixth position in the ICC Test rankings.

Earlier, Pakistan wrapped up the last of the five match limited overs one day international against Sri Lanka with a three-wicket win in Abu Dhabi, and won the series 4-1.

    Indian ‘full of hate’ trolls will now go into a hole as they always do when something positive about Pakistan is published.

    Well Done Ajmal and we are proud of you. But the unfortunate history in Pakistan is our Heroes tend to become Zeroes by compromising on ethical and moral values. Please do not copy the standards of Salman Butt and Asif. Pls keep your head down and try to remain humble and modest. This is surely a reason to cheer and for our deprived nation a reason to be happy about but i am afraid if the disgrace and insult are following soon? Pls dont do anything silly to disrepute you, the game of Cricket and our motherland.

    people like you should be kept in a closet. most of the indians on ET are quite understanding and tolerant unlike we pakistanis. they dont need to feel jealous of us as they are doing pretty good in every sector. its time you come out of your narrow minded thinking and see how they are better then us in everything.
    P.S yo indians folks we are bhai-bhai. :)

    @The Reader:
    and what Harbhajjan was doing in Indian team for the last couple of years….before your selectors came to know about the gem called Ashwin….trust me AJMAL is far far better than Bhajji…but on the other hand Ashwin seems to be superstar for future….Bhajji was always over rated….!!!

    i know a few indian trolls at ET with made up names like asok, anil, hedgefunder…who troll here with only hateful comments…then there are tolerant ones also….five fingers can never be same…Indians on the whole are tolerant nations….they give freedom to minorities, make muslims president, make muslims captains, have film industry utterly ruled by muslims, have muslim nuclear scientist/ former president….and so on…but on the other hand they have shiv sena, VHP and to an extent BJP….what I want to say is that you will never see angels everywhere and you will never see only devils everywhere…so ….give credit where it is due….and criticize where required….
    remember India is moving ahead because they have moved on from this pure hate hate thing…they have started to look higher…..we must follow suit and try to prosper rather than meddle with each other…..
