ISLAMABAD: Senator Tahir Hussain Mashhadi has said that a strong and stringent law was required to safeguard the sanctity of bodies.

The law should prove a strong deterrent to grave diggers and violators of bodies, Mashhadi said, after submitting a bill in Senate to further amend the Pakistan Penal Code, 1860.

The senator believed that incidents of stealing, selling, and even the physical violation of bodies in the country was increasing and that the bill should be put into action.
