Assistance: Rehabilitating lives and hospitals

SWAT:

Forty-seven schools in Swat will be equipped with basic facilities and 44 drinking water supply schemes will be completed under the Pakistan Assistance Programme by the UAE. Medical facilities to hospitals in Swat will also be provided.

This was said during a visit of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador Esa Abdullah Al-Basha Al-Nuaimi to Swat. He was accompanied by Peshawar Corps Commander Asif Yaseen Malik.

During the visit, Malik and Al-Nuaimi attended the opening ceremony of Government High School Aingaro Dheria, demolished by the Taliban along with 400 other schools in surrounding areas.

Talking to the local media, Malik thanked the UAE government for the assistance provided to health and education sectors. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Al-Nuaimi thanked the Swati people for the kindness and hospitality shown during the brief trip. He said that the completion of the school building “is a great achievement whose construction is part of the UAE assistance of $100 million for rehabilitation.”
