Gang wars: Fighting like cats and dogs

Cops arrest 6 ‘Billa gang’ members and are searching for the ‘Kutta gang’.

DCO Muhammad Waqar Abbasi said that police officials had arrested six members of the ‘Billa gang’ and recovered stolen items from their possession on Tuesday.


Addressing a press conference, the DPO said the gang was wanted by Mian Channu, Arifwala, Khanewal, Vehari, Bahawalnagar and Raheem Yar Khan police in different cases of robbery and kidnapping. Abbasi said the gang comprised of 27 members and had a long term rivalry with another gang in the area called the ‘Kutta gang’. Police officials arrested ringleader Abdul Sattar Odh, Khadim Hussain, Manzoor Chaudhry, Falak Sher Odh, Mazhar Abbas Bloach and Akram Chohan.  He said that police had recovered stolen items worth Rs5 million including fertiliser and a mini truck from their possession.

He said that police had also seized four pistols, a pump action and 22 bullets and had registered separate cases against all the accused. “We are looking for the remaining gang members and also searching for members of the Kutta gang” he said.
