Protest: DHQ hospital nurses want more money

The protesting nurses boycotted duties in all wards of the hospital and took out a rally from the Emergency Ward.

Hundreds of nurses working at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) in Faisalabad staged a protest rally on Tuesday for an increase in their salaries.


The protesting nurses boycotted duties in all wards of the hospital and took out a rally from the Emergency Ward. “All we are asking for is enough money to get buy. We can barely afford to feed ourselves and keep house at our present salary,” said nurse Attiya.The participants of the rally sported banners and placards inscribed with their demands and said that their current salary needed to be revised for inflation.

“We work harder than doctors and yet we can barely feed our children,” said a protester.

Meanwhile, DHQ Hospital patients faced great difficulties due to the strike.
