School children on Monday vowed to strive for securing a better future and rights for themselves and other disadvantaged children of the country.  They made this pledge at a colourful programme held on the Roots School System (RSS) Islamabad campus in  connection with Universal Children’s Day, said a press release issued by the school.

Banners inscribed with slogans such as, “We are the future...the hope for a better tomorrow”, “Hug a child” and “Education is our basic right,” were displayed. A group of children sung a song “Dare to Dream”.

Different programmes like skits, plays, speeches on child rights and songs were presented by the children in all of its branches including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Mirpur, Peshawar, Muzaffarabad, Abbotabad and Wah Cantt.

This was in line with the literacy and education campaign that the school has launched.
