Security forces kill six militants in Kurram operation

PESHAWAR: Six militants were killed and several others injured early Monday morning in the ongoing operation against militants in Kurram Agency.

Official sources confirmed that army helicopters targeted militant hideouts in the Marghan area of Kurram Agency, adding that six hideouts were completely destroyed when pounded by military  helicopters.

They said the ongoing operation against militants has taken up speed as militants were continuously being targeted not only in Kurram but in upper parts of the Orakzai Agency as well.

Officials also said security forces targeted militant hideouts in the Mamozai area of Upper Orakzai Agency where more than 105 militants have so far been killed and 150 wounded during the past few days.

Five military personnel were also killed in the ongoing operation.
