Quaid Trophy: Islamabad survive Rawalpindi scare

Record narrow three-wicket win in Quaid Trophy.

Islamabad survived a brilliant bowling performance from Nasir Malik and Rashid Latif as they made it past the finish line, chasing a paltry total of 87, to beat Rawalpindi by three wickets in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy.

Rawalpindi, who were dismissed for 256 in their second-innings, went all out in attack as Malik took four and Latif claimed three wickets, according to information provided by the Pakistan Cricket Board. However, the total was not enough as Islamabad scraped home for a narrow win.

Faisalabad humbled, Karachi prosper

Abbottabad recorded a huge innings and 37-run win over Faisalabad on the third day. Faisalabad, who trailed by 237 in the first-innings, were bowled out for 200 to concede a heavy defeat.

In another match, Shahzeb Hasan made 91 while Mohammad Sami was the surprise package, hitting a 41-ball 61, as Karachi Blues reached 432 for nine for an overall lead of 349 against Sialkot as the match heads into its final day.

PIA record eight-wicket win

Kamran Sajid and Faisal Iqbal steered PIA to an eight-wicket win over Wapda as the team overhauled the 211-run target in the 58th over on the penultimate day. Sajid hit an unbeaten century and Iqbal contributed 68 after Wapda were bowled out for 218 in their second-innings with Ali Imran Pasha claiming five for 48.

In other matches, HBL were reduced to 101 for three, in pursuit of an improbable 376-run target against ZTBL. After a 282-run total in the first-innings, NBP managed 248 for four in their second after SBP were bowled out for 282 on the third day.
