Profit And Loss: Fruit vendor, hotel owner booked
The magistrate imposed a fine of Rs2,500 each and also sent the accused to the district jail.
FAISALABAD:
Special price control magistrate Riaz Husain Anjum booked a fruit vendor and an owner of a local hotel for profiteering on Saturday. According to officials, the raiding officer conducted raid near Ghubi Ghat and found a fruit seller Akram and an owner of a local hotel involved in overcharging and profiteering and has sent them to jail for 24 hours. “The accused were not displaying price lists either,” Anjum told reporters. “We have issued repeated warnings regarding over pricing and all vendors in the district were told to display price lists. The ones that don’t are usually the ones who are overcharging as well,” he said. The magistrate imposed a fine of Rs2,500 each and also sent the accused to the district jail.
