Quaid Trophy: Jamal claims six as Faisalabad embarrassed

Ahmed Jamal claimed six for 25 and Khalid Usman finished with three wickets as Abbottabad shot out Faisalabad for a humiliating 74 in the first-innings on the opening day before reaching 110 for three in their Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match, according to information provided by the Pakistan Cricket Board. Ramiz Ahmed was not out on 34 as Abbottabad gained a lead 36.

Sialkot dominate proceedings

Sialkot were on top as day one ended at the National Stadium, reaching 98 for no loss after bundling out the hosts for a paltry 166 in the first-innings. Mohammad Imran claimed five for 40 to help dismiss Karachi in the 44th over before Mohammad Yasin (58) hit an unbeaten 58 to ensure Sialkot dominated the proceedings.

Islamabad survive opening day

Afaq Rahim hit 89 as Islamabad reached 226 for six against Rawalpindi on the opening day at the Diamond Ground.

Rashid Latif claimed four wickets for 63 but none of the other bowlers offered him much support.

Bowlers prosper in Wapda-PIA clash

Fifteen wickets fell on the opening day as Wapda were bowled out for 178 before PIA reached 111 for five in reply in the first-innings. PIA’s Anwar Ali claimed four for 47 while Aamir Sajjad contributed 69. In reply, all-rounder Rana Navedul Hasan took three wickets to peg back the PIA team.

In other matches, Sarmad Anwar took six for 52 as HBL dismissed ZTBL for 201 in the first-innings before reaching 33 for no loss. NBP were bowled out for 282  before SBP survived five overs in their innings, making seven runs.
