DERBY: New Zealand opener Martin Guptill is set to return to Derbyshire next season after signing a two-month contract with the English county side. Guptill impressed in a short stint with Derbyshire last season and is set to return on a deal that will see him available from the start of the season until June 12. “The news that Martin is returning for a large chunk of the 2012 season is a massive boost for the squad,” said Derbyshire head coach Karl Krikken. “Martin was a match-winner for us on several occasions in 2011 and he also proved to be an excellent influence on his fellow players.”
