Pakistan Women suffered their first loss at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s World Cup qualifier, going down to the West Indies Women by eight wickets in Savar, Bangladesh.

Pakistan, who won their opening matches against Ireland and Bangladesh, lost their last seven wickets for just 18 runs and were bundled out for 140. Off-spinner Anisa Mohammad claimed five for 26 before West Indies finished the job in the 35th over. Sana Mir made 49 and Nain Abidi hit 53 but none of the other players offered much resistance. In reply, West Indies were reduced to 19 for two before opener Stafanie Taylor and Deandra Dottin added 123 for the third wicket.

Pakistan, who are placed second in Group B, face Japan Women on Sunday and will need a win to confirm their place in the 2013 World Cup.
