Official visit: Akram Masih Gill to meet pope

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for National Harmony Akram Masih Gill is to meet Pope Benedict XVI on November 17 (today) in the Vatican City as part of an official visit, according to a press release. The minister will discuss with the Pope various issues including inter-religious dialogue. The minister will also brief the pope on the various steps taken by Pakistan in addressing the needs of minorities, including senate seats, government jobs and national assembly seats reserved for minorities. Gill also visited the city of Turin earlier this week, where he was received by the Mayor of Turin Fassio along with his colleagues on Saturday morning.
