MIRPUR:

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has imposed a ban on all recruitments to government and autonomous institutions. An official notification to this end has been issued, a source said on Wednesday.

An official from the AJK government told The Express Tribune that the order shall remain in force with immediate effect in all government and semi-government departments across AJK.

Meanwhile, the ad hoc and contractual employees of the government departments including autonomous bodies in AJK expressed fear over their bleak futures.

They said that the imposition of ban on new recruitments and an inordinate delay in regularisation of their services, would prolong their miseries.

They alleged that the notification to this effect was issued after the AJK Prime Minister Abdul Majeed ordered imposition of ban on the new recruitment in all of the state-run institutions.

These employees alleged that the decision has been taken by the prime minister to accommodate the ruling party’s activists in the public sector.
