Firing across Karachi, 12 dead

Firing continues in several parts of Karachi as 4 more people were killed raising the death toll from target killings to 12.

KARACHI: Firing continues in several parts of Karachi including Gulistan e Johar, Malir, Surjani Town and Shah Faisal Colony, on Wednesday, as four more people were shot dead in various areas of the city. The death toll from target killing incidents has now risen to 12.

Police recovered two of the dead bodies from the Sohrab Goth area of the city, while the third dead body was recovered from the Old Golimar area. All three bodies were shifted to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital for a post mortem examination.

Another person was also shot dead in the Sarjani Town area of the city.

Yesterday, seven people were shot dead in various areas on the outskirts of the city, in what the police said were mostly politically motivated attacks.

Even if you do you are asked hundreds of questions before they move to investigate. This gives enough time for perpetrators to do whatever they want to do and run. Then you are left behind to face lengthy investigations and at a time feel yourself a culprit. When you finally get rid of Police then you are at the mercy of those who committed crime and they fully know every bit of detail about you and your family. This is why I blame politicians for creating this ruthless culture supporting criminals. @Imran Dhanji We make one big mistake when we link individual actions with state. State is indeed at fault when it support certain elements in society over other citizens. Pakistan earned bad reputation because of its incompetent, myopic religious as well as political leadership. Ideology of creation of Pakistan was right but it was hijacked within one year of its creation. Quaid-e-Azam cannot be blamed for the wrong doing of his successors. He wanted this country to be for everyone irrespective of cast, creed or belief. Religious leaders who opposed Pakistan's creation conspired later and laid down foundations for theocratic state by adopting Objective Resolution as foundation for constitution. Bhutto further strengthened theocracy by allowing constitutional amendments against Ahmadis and Ziaul Haq went a step further in sowing seeds of hatred by promulgating Ordinance XX/Blasphemy Laws and bringing Islamization to Armed Forces and supporting Jihadi culture. This is what is wrong with Pakistan now.

Imran Dhanji | 14 years ago | Reply Wow Karachi beats any other city in killings. Even Colombia and Mexico is safe than Pakistan. What kind of country did Jinnah envision when he created Pakistan. Christians killed on blasphemy charges, seven Hindus killed in one day, demolition of Hindu temple. In Baluchistan two political leaders killed in one week. No wonder the world thinks Pakistan as “the most dangerous country in the world”. The image of Pakistan is so bad in the west. Every terrorism incident from London to Chile, Uganda to New York have some Pakistani connection. Pakistan has become the “Outsourcing for Terrorism” capital. Yesterday on a plane I met a Ismaili from Canada who grew up in Tanzania and I was shocked what he said. He said that Pakistan can never be a country. It was a artificial state created and creation of Pakistan was a mistake. He was referring to treatment of Ahmadis and Ismailis in Pakistan. I wonder if there is truth in his statement.

Problem is that no one steps up to alert the authorities of suspicious activities just because no one gives a damn about anyone. We have deteriorated to a filthy selfish society where everyone has they own flags and agenda. No one give a rats ass about the citizens because citizens are brainwashed into creating a segregated society. When will we all step up and consider ourselves Pakistanis? I am a Pakistani. Speak up and say you are one too. Thats the only way to defeat these groups.

If they are serious they can stop all this within an hour. Unfortunately none of them is serious and least concerned about citizens pf Karachi or Pakistan.

The good thing is that nobody resigns from his post to show responsibility. Ordinary people are not V.I.P's so it is not necessary to protect them and their belongings. Come on their lives have no value. Good Job!!!!! Shame, where are you?
