Protest: Nurses in Multan demand salary packages from govt

According to the proposed package, the minimum salary of a nurse should be Rs50,000.

MULTAN:

Nurses in Multan lodged a sit-in on Wednesday, demanding salary packages similar to the ones given by the government to doctors. 


The Young Nurses Association arranged this demonstration outside Nishtar Hospital.


Nurses from various government hospitals attended the protest. They demanded that the government should announce a salary package for nurses similar to the one announced for doctors.


According to the proposed package, the minimum salary of a nurse should be Rs50,000, a head nurse Rs70,000, a nursing superintendent Rs80,000 and a chief nursing superintendent Rs120,000.


They also demanded the recruitment of 1,500 more nurses at the Nishtar Hospital. They also demanded promotions, high risk allowance and an increase in their pay scales.
