Fatal crash: Five killed in road accident

Four of the injured were referred to Quetta in critical condition.

QUETTA: At least five people died and eight others, including two children, were wounded when a tractor crashed into a passenger van in Qilla Abdullah district on Tuesday night.

A passenger van, on its way to Zhob from Quetta, collided with a speedy tractor coming from the opposite side near Muslim Bagh bazaar, killing three people on the spot and injuring 10 others, according to official sources.

Police and rescue workers rushed to the site after the accident and took the dead and injured to a state-run hospital in Muslim Bagh. Four of the injured were referred to Quetta in critical condition, said doctors at Sandeman Hospital.

The deceased include Mohammad Ali, Jaffar Hussain, Muhammad Younus, Safdar Ali and Allahyar. Three of the victims belonged to Parachinar in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
