Rising crimes: Traders seek arrest of robbers, better security

ABBOTABAD:

The local traders on Tuesday demanded arrest of the accused involved in robberies in the area and also asked for the recovery of looted cash and valuables. They threatened to go on a strike if the culprits were not arrested within 48 hours.

This was decided at their meeting with President All Traders Foundation (ATF) Muhammad Naeem Awan.

While discussing the security situation of local markets, they expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of local police.

The traders said that the recent incident of three robberies, particularly the looting of a mobile shop in broad daylight had developed a sense of insecurity among the traders, who were finding it difficult to run their business peacefully.

They said if the police did not recover the looted valuables and cash by arresting the culprits within 48 hours, then ATF would chalk out a protest plan and the police administration would be responsible for the consequences.
