Rehabilitation: Rs80m released for govt offices

PaRRSA said tranche is a part of the UNDP assistance of Rs220 million for government offices in the militancy-hit area

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Reconstruction, Rehabilitation & Settlement Authority (PaRRSA) released Rs80 million on Monday for government offices of Malakand Division. A PaRRSA spokesperson said that the tranche is a part of the United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) assistance of Rs220 million for government offices in the militancy-hit area. During the Taliban insurgency, 79 government offices were destroyed by the militants, while the UNDP has already provided equipment including computers, fax machines, photocopiers and printers worth Rs50 million to these offices. Around Rs14.74 million have been allocated for Lower Dir, Rs13.86 million for Upper Dir, Rs110 million for Swat, Rs38.6 million for Shangla, Rs14.30 million for Buner and Rs26.3 million for Malakand District.
