In Pakistan there should have been one law in operation for a long time which would have tremendously helped stabilise the civil political setup.

That is, for a certain period of time, say three years, no politician crossing over from one political party to another will be eligible for some political appointment unless and until, in the interim period of three years, the politician has proved his/her loyalty to the adopted party.

And the politician walking over from one party to another will furthermore be deprived from casting his her vote until a certain time period has elapsed.
