Fir registered: Man tortured wife for two months

BAHAWALPUR: An FIR has been registered against a man and his family in Bahawalpur who allegedly imprisoned and tortured his wife for over two months. According to details, Ayesha was kept imprisoned by her husband Behzad Asif who wanted her to transfer her house in his name. When she refused, he locked her into her room and deprived her of food even though she was pregnant.  It was only after she suffered a miscarriage that her in-laws and husband took her to the hospital. On reaching the hospital, Ayesha told her story to the doctor who immediately called the police. A police official told The Express Tribune that the medical report confirmed Ayesha’s story of miscarriage and torture. He further stated that the accused, who had fled, were on bail before arrest.
