Dengue: Private hospitals must report deaths

Director General Health Dr Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry said on Sunday that Sri Lankan experts had imparted training to 472 doctors, 76 spray workers and CDC supervisors on controlling dengue virus. He said that private hospitals were bound to provide data regarding dengue patients and deaths to the Health Department under the Dengue Control Regulations 2011 and a notification in this regard has been issued. Meanwhile, Mayo Hospital medical superintendent Dr Zahid Pervaiz said a majority of patients admitted in high dependency units had co-morbid history and most of them were not dengue patients. He said that best possible treatment facilities were being provided to them.
