Arooha Tariq, who won the Horlicks Wiz Kids 2011 competition will represent Pakistan in the South Asian final in Bangalore in India on November 16. She is a student of Roots College International, said a press release issued by the school on Sunday.

The competition is South Asia’s largest hunt for outstanding students who have a good balance of character and competence, said the press release.

Four winners of the South Asian finals will each get a cash prize of Rs200,000
and a chance to represent their country in the grand final quiz in Geneva, Switzerland.

Arooha initiated a project “Education for All”, in which she started conducting regular, weekly classes in the slums of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. She has vowed to diminish, if not eradicate illiteracy and injustice by providing free quality education to the slum kids in the twin cities, said the press release. She hopes to expand her project with the help of sponsors and fellow volunteers.
